I am Lazdo. I've been a Zelda fan for 13 years. This is my blog for talking about Skyward Sword!

I’m a bit underwhelmed by that final boss and this ending :|
ok here we go
i guess this must be the end of the gameish
This isn’t something Link has done since like what… A LttP? You get the Triforce in that game right?
Every game after that has kinda avoided that whole possibility and made it more of like, an unobtainable item for Link. or at least that’s how it’s happened.
Well played, Nintendo. Like anything that’s cool, if you overuse it, it becomes boring. But if you don’t, those few times where it’s there feel that much more awesome and special.
I feel like this kind of self-control is something a lot of game series don’t have
LAST SILENT REALM
i will end you!!!!!
Strich: “Hey that was a pretty good time at my bug catching game, as a prize here are 5 of my favorite type of bugs. Take good care of them……..”

Temple of Time cutscene
Um… hmm… what came after that…
I think that after that, I had to go back to Skyloft and talk to the eyelid-less man about a song or something. And then get the pinwheel for the other windmill.
If I’m totally honest with you guys, this kinda felt like it started… a string of unrelated fetch quests. I don’t know how else to describe it. Unfortunately a lot of these elements are not really tied together by a story. Instead it feels like a linear progression of tasks that the game explains like, “Oh, by the way, the Goddess said you have to go do this now. Because.” Maybe that criticism means nothing? After all, this is Zelda. But perhaps my point is that it doesn’t feel very coherent in this game.
Anyway, I got the pinwheel (it was easy because I found it earlier), pointed the windmills at that tower, and played the song with Fi at the top. My boyfriend was watching me play while I was doing this. When it got to this part he laughed and said, “…why is it in these games that some things look so nice, and others they put no effort into it at all?” He was talking about the animation on Link and Fi while the song was playing.
Yeah, I…… I don’t understand why Nintendo does this either. It was just an unsynched looped animation of Fi flapping her mouth and Link playing the same 2 chords. It looked pretty terrible, and it was distracting during a moment that I think was supposed to feel whimsical due to the nice music. It’s almost the year 2012… there’s really no excuse for this lazy shit, Nintendo. I expect this from a Gamecube game. :|
So after that was the new area in the big storm cloud. This part was pretty awesome. I really felt like I was playing a Zelda game here. I forget the name of the island, but it felt like a very ancient left-over monument from a long, long time ago. It’s those moments in Zelda where I feel like I’m exploring something forgotten and mysterious that make me love the series so much. :3
After that, it was back to Faron Woods. I think what came next was the first Silent Realm part, and then the re-visit of the Sky Temple.
Silent Realm: AWESOME. I’m not sure I’ve EVER lost my shit that hard while playing a Zelda game. Every time those fuckers caught me and I had to start all over again, I got more pissed and more determined to win. But it wasn’t a “frustrated” pissed off - when I lost, it didn’t feel cheap. It felt like I was learning and that I still wanted to do it. THAT is how you make things challenging in a game, you know? Not by making the controls counter-intuitive and shitty. *stares at the Wiimote.*
Also, is there a way to go back and get Dusk Relics you missed? :C I worry I won’t have enough since I skipped past A LOT of them.
After that, I got the Water Dragon’s Scale… and then I had to go through the lake to get to Faron… I guess the underwater stuff is okay, if not for (again) the unnecessary motion controls. Also, Link looks ridiculous when he does that spin thing. xD
As for going back to the Sky Temple goes, all I can say is meh. Yet another fetch quest to artificially lengthen the play time that felt for the most part completely pointless. It screeched the game to a halt for about 45 minutes. :|
ANYWAY, I am now on the fourth dungeon. It looks hard and it looks like I have to do a lot of swimming. This might turn into a complaint-fest but IMMA TRY TO HAVE FUN.
here we goooo
